Coloring the Main Lines of the Characters and the Sound Effects
Color elements created according to the monochrome manga guide, such as the main lines of the characters and the sound effect lettering, so that these elements blend well with the colored areas.
Coloring the Main Lines of the Characters
1On the [Layer] palette, select the "Fill 2" layer and then select the [Layer] menu → [Merge with layer below].
The "Fill 2" layer and "Characters 1" layer are joined as the "Characters 1" layer.
2Select the "Characters 1" layer and change the [Expression color] to [Color] on the [Layer Property] palette.
3Click [Lock Transparent Pixel] on the [Layer] palette.
4Use tools such as the [Watercolor] tool and the [Airbrush] tool to color the main lines and areas filled in monochrome on the character.
5On the [Layer] palette, select the "Characters 2" layer and change the stacking order so that this layer is immediately below the "Fill" layer.
6On the [Layer] palette, select the "Fill" layer in addition to the "Characters 2" layer and then select the [Layer] menu → [Combine Selected Layer].
The "Fill" layer and "Characters 2" layer are joined as the "Characters 2" layer.
7With the joined "Characters 2" layer selected, click [Lock Transparent Pixel]. Change the [Expression color] to [Color] on the [Layer Property] palette.
8Color the main lines and areas filled in monochrome on the "Characters 2" layer using tools such as the [Watercolor] tool and the [Airbrush] tool.
9The main lines of the character are now colored.
